Visitor Camping

Do I need a King of the Ranges gate ticket to book a campsite at King of the Ranges?

Yes, book here. Gate tickets will need to be shown on entry to the campground. Please contact Murrurundi Visitor Information Centre on (02) 6540 1364 or via their website for information about other campsites and accommodations available locally.

When do the campsites open?

From the Wednesday before the King of the Ranges starts.

Can specific campsites be booked? Can groups camp together?

It is not possible to book specific sites within the camping area. When you arrive, the Camping Volunteers will direct you to the next available campsite. To ensure you have the best opportunity to camp with your friends we suggest your group arrive and enter the camping area together.

How many vehicles per campsite?

1 vehicle pass is issued per campsite. There is no allowance for extra vehicles. Extra vehicles are to be parked outside the camping area. Your vehicle must be parked within your allocated area, otherwise parked outside. No blocking of roads or access to neighbours sites.

Can we bring alcohol to the campsite?

You may bring alcohol but it can only be consumed at your campsite within the camping area. NO alcohol can be brought into the event areas. Patrons may be subject to random checks to ensure compliance.

Are there powered sites?

No, there are no powered sites. You are welcome to bring solar or a small quiet generator. Generators must not run between 10pm and 6am. Please be mindful of the noise curfew.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are permitted within the camping area, must be on a leash, under control and kept quiet at all times. Dogs are not permitted on the event grounds (competitive and working dogs excepted). It is a requirement to clean up after your dog.

Are fires permitted?

Small cooking or campfires are permitted on your campsite in line with any and all Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Bans. You must comply with these rules or if asked to put out a fire by King of the Ranges volunteers. All fires must be contained within a fire pit or drum. Can we connect to water?

No. There is limited access to water points. Hoses are not to be fitted to taps or restrict access to water by other campers. Hoses will be removed if this occurs. It is recommended to arrive with full water tanks and bring drinking water.

Grey Water

Grey water can run onto the ground provided it does not impact the campers around you.

Black Water

Black water MUST be contained and released at the dump point (Wilson Memorial Park) or taken with you when you leave your campsite.

Rubbish

Your rubbish must be contained, disposed of, or taken with you when you leave your campsite. Your campsite must be left clean, free of rubbish, waste or damage.
