From high in the hills of the Great Dividing Range to the long grassy plains stockmen and women are called to the Challenge.
Entries open on iCompete on the 30th of July and close on the 13th of August 2024.
As you know, acceptances have gone out via email (to whichever email address is linked to your ABCRA profile. Please check your junk inbox. It is important that you confirm your entries on iCompete and pay your entry fee before the 27th of August to avoid going on a waiting list.

The King of the Ranges Ladies Challenge

Open to female competitors 18 years and over

The King of the Ranges Novice Challenge
PRIZE POOL $2,950
Open to male and female riders 18 years and over. Competitors are eligible for the Novice competition if they have not finalled at KOTR, BOTB or MFSR in the last 7 years.

The Bob Paton Junior Challenge
PRIZE POOL $1,810
Open to riders 14-17years. Under 18yrs are not permitted to ride stallions in any King of the Ranges events. Juniors must wear approved EA standards helmets for all events and safety vest for cross country obstacle course.

The King of the Ranges Stripling Challenge
PRIZE POOL $825
Open to riders 8–13years. Under 18yrs are not permitted to ride stallions in any King of the Ranges events. Juniors must wear approved EA standards helmets for all events and safety vest for cross country obstacle course.

The Working Horse Challenge
The Sam Easey Working Horse Challenge runs separately to the Stockman's Challenge and is the same format as a working cow horse challenge. There are two events, a dry work phase (ride a set pattern) and a wet work phase (cattle work). Both phases are designed to highlight the ability and versatility of the horse and its relationship to the rider.
The top five riders after the two preliminary events will go into the final on Sunday, which is working horse pattern.
