Members

Joining the ‘green shirt brigade’ is joining a team of happy and passionate volunteers who work hard to continue heritage Stockman’s Challenges and Bush Festivals in the Upper Hunter of NSW.

King of the Ranges members are part of a not for profit volunteer team. We can promise there will be dust and dirt, or flood and mud, laughs and jokes, camaraderie and teamwork and a sense of pride and achievement when the weekend is done, but a sense of community and belonging is most of what you’ll experience.

Some members know a lot about Stockman's Challenges and some barely know one end of a horse from the other, most importantly all pitch in and are welcoming.

Membership is $10 per calendar year and fall due on 1 January annually.

About KOTR Members

There are people who have been members since 2003 who were key to forming of King of the Ranges and members who joined this year. There is a great range of experience and fresh ideas in our team, ranging in age from 18 to over 85.

There is a role for everyone; some roles are physical, some are technical, some get dirty and others are ‘computery’. Many hands make lighter work and importantly all are welcome.

In 2024 King of the Ranges will celebrated 20 years of Stockman’s Challenges.

How King of the Ranges runs

King of the Ranges, Stockman’s Challenge Inc. has:

  • a Management Committee consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer

  • a General Committee consisting of 3 Members

  • Members

  • The roles requiring nomination/election are the Management Committee and General Committee and Public Officer

Volunteers

All roles are volunteer and no member receives payment for their time.

Nominations for Management Committee roles must be received 7 days prior to the AGM.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of King of the Ranges Stockman's Challenge Inc. is held annually in February. Details below:

  • Time 6.30pm

  • Date 19th February 2026

  • Where Murrurundi Bowling Club

All King of the Ranges Stockman's Challenge Inc. members are welcome. Only current and financial members are eligible to vote.

Nomination for Election

Nomination for election to the King of the Ranges Stockman's Challenge Inc. Management Committee will conclude at the AGM. Accordingly, nominations are invited to fill these positions. The term is for one (1) year. All positions are open to interested members.

Management Committee

  • President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary

General Committee

  • 3 x Ordinary Committee Members
