On Saturday 22 September 2018, King of the Ranges members gathered at Rosedale Complex Murrurundi to remember six Committee members who passed away in recent years and who had given many hours to ensure the continuation of the King of the Ranges Stockman’s Challenge.

Family and friends of Merv Nicholson, Pat O’Hearn, Viv Carter, John Purcell, Barbara Smith and Coral Moss came together to unveil a special Commemorative Stone.

Earl Kelaher thanked Committee members Warren Bramley for finding a suitable stone and Bob Paton’s team for creating the memorial in an appropriate place at Rosedale. Earl spoke a little about each past member before asking long time local resident John Benham to make an address and unveil the stone.

The day included naming and opening a Grandstand, built by members and volunteers. Barry Moss, nephew of Archie “Bung” McInnes, has been associated with KOTR since its inception. Barry unveiled The “Bung” McInnes Memorial Stand in honour of the event’s inspirational figurehead and his Uncle.
